Lecturers

Márta Gulyás, born in Budapest in 1953, studied there at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music with István Lantos and Erzsebet Tuse. After graduating, she received a scholarship to study at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow with Dmitri Bashkirov. Concert tours have taken her to numerous cities and festivals around the world, including with partners such as Gérard Caussé, Gustav Rivinius, Guy Deplus, Michaela Martin, García Asensio, Frans Helmerson and Christoph Henkel. Recordings with Hungaroton (Hungary) and Biblioservice (Netherlands) document her skills. In 1985 she was honoured with the Hungarian Culture Prize and in 1998 with the Liszt Ferenc Prize. She is currently head of the chamber music department at the Liszt Ferenc Academy in Budapest and teaches piano chamber music at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sophía in Madrid.

Are Sandbakken, born in Oslo in 1967, is a key figure in the Norwegian music scene as a versatile performer and sought-after teacher. He studied violin and viola with Leif J?rgensen in Oslo and Sandor Vegh in Salzburg. He later studied singing with Susanna Eken in Copenhagen and conducting with Jorma Panula in Finland. He was principal viola of the Camerata Academica Salzburg and the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra under Mariss Jansons. He was also a member of the Oslo String Quartet for 25 years, with whom he toured throughout Europe. The quartet has made a number of award-winning recordings and received the Spellemann Prize in 2013.
